Kenneth "Ken" Clayton Kurtz

Kenneth Clayton Kurtz, 69, Green Bay, died on Wednesday April 4, 2012 at a local hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Ken was born on June 24, 1942 in Shawano to Beatrice (Lehto) Kurtz and the late Clayton Kurtz. He was a 1960 graduate of Pulaski High School. Ken served his country as a member of the US Navy from 1964 to 1968 as a Hospital Corpsman doing two tours on the U.S.S. Forrestal and two tours on the U.S.S. Belmont. On March 17, 1973 he married the former Beverly Carpenter in Poy Sippi, Wisconsin. Ken retired from Fort Howard Paper Company after 29 years of employment. He was a member of the Georgia Pacific Quarter Century Club and the Georgia Pacific Alumni. Ken loved spending time with his grandsons, teaching them how to bake and make crafts. He enjoyed woodworking, candle making, reading, cooking, baking, yard work and flowers. Ken had a great sense of humor and loved to party and have a good time. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
