Anthony "Tony" G. Gallegos

Anthony "Tony" George Gallegos, 35, of Burlington died 6:00 p.m. April 15, 2012 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Born on March 29, 1977 in Burlington, he was the son of Raymundo C. Gallegos and Catherine J. (Gillis) Brown. Tony was proud of earning his G.E.D. in 2009. He married Wendy Cheney on July 7, 2007 in Burlington. Tony worked as a welder for Hawkeye Steel Co. for 5 years. He was a huge Metallica fan and loved to play the drums. He enjoyed fishing, visiting with his grandchildren and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Wendy Gallegos of Burlington; five children, Jada Hart, Annissa Gallegos, Cali-Ray Gallegos, Stephanie Cheney and Keshia Hart all of Burlington; his mother and step-father, Catherine and Scott Brown of Burlington, father, Raymundo Gallegos; three grandchildren, Raelee, Presten and Steven; one brother; Raymundo J. ews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Tharon Gillis. The funeral service for Mr. Gallegos will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 20th in Lunning Chapel. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19th in Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family requests that in memory of Tony, for visitation all friends and family wear a Metallica shirt. Inurnment will be held on Monday, April 23rd in St. Mary Cemetery, Dodgeville, Iowa. According to his wishes, cremation will be accorded following the funeral service. A memorial has been established for his family.
