Daniel Ray Bacon was born on July 27, 1946 to Herman and Cloye (Tickle) Bacon. He enlisted with the United States Armed forces and was with Special Forces. He worked for the Army until his retirement. He was truly dedicated to the military.
Daniel married Caroline Turner on February 24, 1970 in Milo. He enjoyed cutting firewood, watching westerns, and going to auctions. He also liked to listen and work on (citizens band) CB radio. He was a member of the House of Prayer Church in Chariton and truly enjoyed bible study.
Daniel Bacon, 65, of Melcher passed on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Caroline of Melcher, children: Stevie Bacon of Russell, Frank (Phyllis) Thomas of Dyersburg, TN, Laura (Jerry) Noel of Dyersburg, TN, Lucinda Marsh of Lafayette, TN, Ginger (Aaron) O'Donnell of Montrose, MN, Victoria (Scott) Stough, Minneapolis, MN, TN, 15 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; two sisters: Rose (Jim) King of Kansas and Patsy (Ron) Neer of Lacona; and brother, Douglas (Kim) Bacon of Albia.
