Harold Frederick Burmester

Harold Frederick Burmester, 80, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Monday May 28, 2012, at his home. He was born September 12, 1931, in Hampton, Iowa, to Frederick Henry & Alvina (Kragel) Burmester. Harold graduated from the Hampton Community High School. He was united in marriage to Marvel Bjelland on February 1, 1954, in Forest City, Iowa. Harold was a farmer and sold machinery. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton for 80 years, Harold also served in the Church as a Sunday School Teacher and as a Elder. He loved to fish, enjoyed 2 cylinder John Deere tractors and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Harold is survived by his wife Marvel Burmester of Hampton, son Lale Burmester of Hampton, daughter Lucinda (Randy ) Oehlert of Hampton, son Fred (Lori) Burmester of Grundy Center, daughter Lynette (Guy) Rustad of Farmington, Minnesota, eleven grandchildren Chad (Amy) Oehlert, Chris Oehlert, Melissa (Alex) Kuhn, Lindsay (Aaron) Royster, Tyler Burmester, Abby Burmester, Clay Burmester, Carter Burmester, Vanessa Rustad, Meghan Rustad and Matthew Rustad and five great grandchildren Olivia Oehlert, Kaelan Oehlert, Rylan Ku...[more]

Collin Kuhn and Zachary Sherer, sister Darlene Bohn of Ventura and five nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild and one brother-in-law. Burial will be at a later date in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Lutheran Hour.
