Duane R. Hillsberg

Duane R. Hillsberg 78, born April 18, 1934, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 23, 2012 after a short battle with cancer. During his last days at home, he was surrounded by family and friends who have all taken the time to forgive, to be forgiven, to be thankful, to love and to say goodbye. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Beverly (Thiry) Hillsberg; sons, Bryan (Angie) Hillsberg and children, Dawn and Brooke; Robert (Tonya) Hillsberg and children, Kristin and Alise; daughters, Christine (Mark) Williquette and children, Andrew and Taylor; Laurie (Shawn) Beauparlant and children, Rachel and Alissa Berg; his son-in-law, Rob Graham and children, Dylan, Natalie and Mitchell; and from his previous marriages, son, Rick (Sylvie) Hillsberg and children, Ryan, Jaimie and Janine; daughters, Sue (Ray) Smith and children, Callie and Jenny; Carol (Toby) Lawson and children, Krista, Sonya and April; Kelly (Mike) Martin and children, Shelly and Timothy; and Lisa Petty and children, Clayton (Bub) and Shannon; his brother, Jim Hillsberg and his sister, Pat Frost; and 20 great-grandchildren. ng resident of Green Bay where anyone who knew him... knew he was more than an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He joined the U.S Navy at the age of 18. After serving with the Navy, Duane became and over-the-road truck driver for 25 years with Schneider Transport and when he retired as a truck driver, he became a school bus driver for First Student, which he retired from in June 2010. He is preceded in death by his father, Wilton Hillsberg, his mother, Vivian Hillsberg, his brothers, Eugene Hillsberg and Jerry Hillsberg and his daughter, Sheila Graham. Visitation will take place from 3:00 to 6:30 PM Tuesday, June 26, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, where the funeral service will take place at 6:30 PM. Full military honors to follow. Entombment will take place at Fort Howard Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Duane's name. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staffs of Aurora Lombardi Cancer Society and Heartland Hospice Home Health Care for their care and concern.
