Thomas E. "Tom" Rockwell, 73, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at his home in Maquoketa, Iowa.
A Natural Journey Farewell with Cremation has taken place. A private burial will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery, Delmar, Iowa. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.
Thomas Eugene Rockwell was born on June 20, 1939 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Frank and Laura Maxine (Baty) Rockwell. He attended Maquoketa schools and was a veteran of the Air Force. He married Dianne M. Gombert on March 15, 1959 in Lost Nation, Iowa. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2007.
Following his honorable discharge, Tom worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa, and then from 1976 to 1998, he and his wife, Dianne, owned and operated Rockwell Residential Care in Delmar, Iowa.
Tom enjoyed newspaper scrapbooking, listening to the police scanner, having coffee at WALMART, keeping a daily journal, and his dog, "Shawnee".
