Wilma E. Jepsen DURANT, Iowa -- Wilma E. Jepsen, 92, of Durant, died on Sunday, July 15, 2012, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at the Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Judi Hein, Sherri Mehus, Cindy Jepsen, Jessica Hall, Jodie Jepsen, Miranda Durham and Michelle Byles. Serving as casket bearers will be her grandsons, Chris Jepsen, Jamie Jepsen, Josh Jepsen, Korry Hein, Tom Mehus, Tom Blair and Marcus Hall. Interment will take place at the Durant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Durant Ambulance Service in her memory. Wilma was born on November 10, 1919, to William and Alfredia Steffen Harmsen in Muscatine County. She married Elmer H. Jepsen on October 17, 1943, in Davenport. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1981. She and Elmer farmed together in Cedar County until 1971. Wilma was a homemaker and worked as a nurse's aide at the former Wilton Nursing Home for 15 years. visiting with friends. She stayed socially active and lived in her own home her whole life. Wilma was especially proud of her grandchildren. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her sons, Jim Jepsen and wife, Katy, of Durant, Gary Jepsen and wife, Carolyn, of Durant, and Dennis "DJ" Jepsen and wife, Debra, of Camanche; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; her sister, Adeline Hoffman of Phoenix, Arizona; and special friend, Ernie Wendell of Bennett. She was preceded in death by parents; her husband; and her brothers, Ray Harmsen, LaVerne Harmsen and Al Harmsen.
