Ronald L. Thompson

Ronald Thompson, 48, of Keokuk passed away on July 18, 2012 at University Hospitals in Iowa City. Ron was born in Big Springs, Texas on May 28, 1964, a son to Hutton & Hassie Van Winkle Thompson. He married the love of his life of 26 years Penny Sue Smith on October 5, 1985. She survives. Ron worked for the city of Keokuk for 18 years and he enjoyed working on his son's race car and he had a passion for deer hunting, coon hunting, fishing and big family barbeques. Ron loved watching his sons make the Varsity Wrestling Team and playing Keokuk High School Football. He also loved the Iowa Hawkeyes. Ron is also survived by two sons: Justin and Ethan Thompson both of Keokuk. They are his pride and joy. will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 21 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Centers located at 917 Blondeau St. in Keokuk with Rev. Terry Lovell officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 pm on Friday with family meeting with friends from 6 to 8. Memorials may be made to the Keokuk High School Wrestling team.
