Kenneth Gilbert MAQUOKETA, Iowa -- Kenneth D. "Boots" Gilbert, 81, formerly of Davenport, died on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Crestridge Care Center, Maquoketa. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at the Bentley Funeral Home, 1001 Sixth Street, Durant. Interment will take place in Durant Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2012, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Walcott Fire Department or Crestridge Care Center in his memory. Ken was born on August 2, 1930, in Scott County, the son of Emil and Bernice Bailey Gilbert. He married Gloria Garvin in Davenport. He later married Mary Hild, she preceded him in death on January 1, 2001. He then married Pam Wigge. He enjoyed dancing and spending time with his friends and family. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his daughter, Cheryl Vaughn and husband, Jerry, of Ringgold, Georgia; his sons, Randall Gilbert and wife, Henrietta, of Rossville, Georgia, and Gregory Gilbert and wife, Starr, of Charleston, South Carolina; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his sisters, Janice Ralfs and husband, Alan, of Stockt...[more]
