Don L. "Donnie" Howard, Jr. DAVENPORT, Iowa--Don Laurence "Donnie" Howard, Jr. 61, of Letts, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012, at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Rev. John Brown of the Fruitland Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will take place in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Community Room. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be donated to Fruitland Baptist Church and the Ronald McDonald House. Donnie was born on March 22, 1951, in Muscatine, the son of Donald L. Howard, Sr. and Janet Marshall Howard. Donald was a 1969 graduate of L&M High School and had attended Iowa State University. He retired from Bandag in 2006 after 36 years. He was a member of the NRA, West Liberty Gun Club and a previous member of the Corvette Club. Donnie will be deeply missed by his siblings, Kristy Kerr of Muscatine, Steve Howard and wife, Laurie, of Davenport, and Lori Lindner and husband, Doug, of Solon; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Linda (Howard) Blankenship; three brothers, David Howard, Roger Howard, James Howard; and his step-father, Herb Howard.
