Kenny is survived by his daughter, Connie Ackerman of Fort Dodge, five grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Arlene in March of 1991 and a daughter, Karen Ackerman in 1976. Kenneth (Kenny) Ackerman, the son of Clifford and Ruth (Amdahl) Ackerman was born June 7, 1920 in Waterloo, Iowa and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1938. On August 12, 1938, Kenny married Arlene Taff in Fort Dodge. He entered the United States Navy in February of 1945 and served in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was discharge a year later in April of 1946. Kenny worked for 13 years with the Illinois Central Railroad. He then was sales manager for the Bock Brother Welding Supplies for 32 years retiring in 1985. After Arlene's death on March 26, 1991, Kenny continued to live in Fort Dodge. He entered Fort Dodge Villa Care Center in April of 2009. Kenny loved hunting, fishing, dancing, and music. He also loved just being with his friends and family.
