Rosemary Kaufman, daughter of Allan and Elizabeth Kaufman, was born on July 13, 1930, in her family's home north of Duncombe. Rosemary attended country school as a child and graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1948. After graduation Rosemary worked for three years as a nurse aide at Mercy Hospital before starting work at Hormel for ten years. In 1961, Rosemary answered God's call to become a nurse. She attended the School of Practical Nursing in Waterloo and trained at three hospitals before starting her nursing career in October 1962. Rosemary retired from nursing in 1992 after thirty years of service at Trinity Regional Hospital. Rosemary's faith was very important to her; she trusted God for everything in her life. Rosemary attended Calvary Baptist Church for many years before becoming a faithful member of the First Evangelical Free Church of Fort Dodge. She cherished her many friendships among there. Rosemary met Everett Arthur Nelson while attending the Cedar Falls Bible Conference, the couple later married on December 9, 1978 at Calvary Baptist Church in Fort Dodge. o sons, Stephen (Marcia) Nelson of Rogers, MN and Gary (Cindy) Nelson of Van Horne, IA; two grandsons, Christopher Nelson of San Diego, CA and Jesse Nelson of Van Horne, IA; her nephew, Dwight (Cindy) Kaufman of Fort Dodge; her three great-nieces, Christy (Mike) Welch of Denison, Julie (John) Bantz of Norwalk, and Laurie (John) Butz of Indianola; her four great-great-nephews, Cameron Bantz, Nic and Tom Welch, and Jacob Butz; her great-great-niece, Jordyn Butz; and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Betty Jane Kaufman; husband; brother, Richard "Dick" Kaufman; and sister-in-law, Pearl Kaufman.
