Charles H. Peterson

Charles is survived by his wife Phyllis K. Peterson, his sons, John C. Peterson of Canton, Michigan, and James C. Peterson and wife Angie of Gowrie, Iowa, his grandchildren Jennifer Crager and husband Jason, Jill Burleson and husband Brett, Melissa Peterson, Nicholas Peterson, Leslie Peterson and Brandon Henson; five great-grandchildren, Emily and Steven Crager, Aubrey Burleson, and Dominique and Kenyon Leake; and brothers, Robert Peterson and Richard Peterson. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, and daughter Kathleen. Charles Howard Peterson, the son of Henry and Alfhild (Brueland) Peterson, was born on December 28, 1926 in Callender, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, graduated from Callender High School in 1944, and attended Iowa State University. On May 21, 1949, Charles Peterson and Phyllis Renquist were united in marriage at Zion Lutheran Church in Gowrie, Iowa. They have resided on a farm in the Callender area, where he has been an active farmer all of his life until semi-retiring a few years ago. ly events. He was an exceptional fisherman who loved to go fishing, and always had a boatload of fishing tales to tell of his fishing trips around Iowa and Minnesota, and to Manitoba and Ontario Canada. He also enjoyed attending the grandchildren's many school activities and sporting events.
