rsity of Iowa and on June 28, 1942 Gene married Muriel Hiler at the Rockwell City Presbyterian Church. After their marriage the couple made Estherville, Iowa their home where he worked for the Gambles Store. In November of 1942, Gene entered the United States Army and later received his honorable discharge. After his discharge they made their home in Fort Dodge where Gene completed his education at Tobin Business College in Fort Dodge. Gene became the operation manager for the Dan Roberts Oil Co. in 1946, in Fort Dodge and in 1957 he went to work for the Champlin Refining Company, as an assistant division manager in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota office. He worked in this position until 1961 when he and his wife, Muriel, were able to return to Fort Dodge when they leased a truck stop and bulk plant facility from Champlin that he had helped purchase and develop, for Champlin. At this time the Moeller's started Gene Moeller Oil Company and the Five Acre Truck Stop. In 1991 they purchased H.K. Thompson Oil Company which, also is in Fort Dodge. They moved the company's operations to the Thompson site in 1992 when they closed the Five Acre Truck Stop. Gene Moeller is a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge, the Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Stores of Iowa. He is also a member of the Ashlar Lodge No. 111 and a member of the American Legion.
