Waunakee - Edward P. Ballweg, age 92, died on Thurs. Aug 23, 2012 at his home in Waunakee. He was born in Roxbury on March 18, 1920 to Edward and Clara (Breunig) Ballweg. He married the former Marion Ziegler on Sept 27, 1945. Ed was a lifelong farmer until his retirement. He loved to play cards, enjoyed watching the birds by their home, and watching the Brewers. He was a member of St John's Catholic Church and the Waunakee Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife of 67 years Marion; his children; Shirley(Fred) Ziegler, Sharon (Gary) Acker and Rodney Ballweg, all of Waunakee; his grandchildren; Tammy (Jerry) Reefe Craig (Kristi) Ziegler, Shane (Bridget) Ziegler, Jenni (Paul) Janus and Kurt Acker; great-grandchildren; Connor and Alainna Reefe,Morgan and Troy Ziegler, Kallie and Wyatt Ziegler, Addison and Hayden Janus; sister Florentine Pertzborn and a brother Marvin (Norma) Ballweg; sisters-in-law Marie Ballweg, Bernadine Ballweg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. At St. John's Catholic Church 209 South St. Waunakee, Rev David Johannes and Rev Monte Robinson will concelebrate the Mass. Friends may call on Sunday Aug. 26, 2012 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home 5785 Hwy. Q. Waunakee. Friends may also call at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. Trent Thompson and his staff at Waunakee Dean Clinic for the care provided to their father.
