WODEN - Paul Peterson, 66, of Woden, died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City. As per his wishes, his body has been cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Petersen Lund Funeral Home - 505 N. Clark Street - Forest City, Iowa. A Military Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 8 at Veteran's Cemetery in Adel, Iowa where he will be laid to rest in the soldier wall of honor. A memorial has been set up in Paul's name at Wells Fargo Bank to aid Vietnam vets, their families, fallen soldiers, POW's and MIA's through Rolling Thunder, Inc. Paul, the son of Henry and Alice (Wimer) Peterson, was born October 6, 1945 in Logan, Iowa. As a young boy, he spent much of his time on the farm with his cousins at Uncle Ellis and Aunt Thelma (Wimer) Jacobsen. He attended Missouri Valley High School. While Paul enjoyed helping family with farming, he was taught there were other duties more important and enlisted in the US Army in 1965 with his two cousins' being drafted along side him. g semi more to his style. Paul was employed with Serta Mattress Company, Clear Lake, Iowa in October 1989 as a truck driver. On June 4th, 2012, he married Carla R Ogden in Mason City, Iowa. The couple have their home on 5 acres in Woden, IA where they have enjoyed the past 7 yrs raising their four-legged furry children and the past 3 years Paul's step-grandchildren. Paul is survived by his wife, Carla, step-daughter, Gemma (Paul) Leitz, step-son, Dustin (Katy) Ogden, Step-grandchildren, Ezekiel Ogden, Gabrielle Leitz, Sisters, Wanda (Mike) Still , Celia Struble, and cousins, nieces, nephews and four-legged kids. Paul is preceded in death by his father, Henry Peterson, mother, Alice (Wimer) Peterson, sister, Cordelia (Peterson) Lemley, brother-in-law, Melvin Lemley, niece, Stephanie Still, Great niece, Mirranda Church.
