Taylor Ryan Carr, 18, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012, in Hampton, Iowa. He was born April 20, 1994 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Rex and Loretta (Schmitt) Carr. Taylor graduated from Hampton-Dumont Community High School in 2012, and was attending North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, Iowa. He worked at KLMJ radio station in Hampton, and also at Sears in Mason City. Taylor enjoyed hunting, all sports (especially baseball), the outdoors, gaming, watching the stars, and family gatherings. He loved playing with his nieces and nephews. "Taylor, will you play with me?" "Sure, I'd love to," was always the reply. Taylor loved to help others, he was a great listener, always knew the right words, and sometimes just his presence is all that was needed. He was kind and generous with a huge heart. We loved his quick witted sense of humor, never cruel. ephews Roen Segerstrom and Camron Pohlman and baby Segerstrom, aunt Patti Walker of Hampton, aunt Agnes Timlin of Vinton, uncle Greg Schmitt of Russell, aunt Linda and Bob Cauwels of Ellsworth, Minnesota, uncle Bob and Wendy Carr of Lancaster, Missouri, uncle Roger and Jami Carr of Holland, and uncle Ric Carr of Pulaski, and several cousins and extended family. Taylor is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents. Taylor would enter a room without announcement or fanfare, yet, his presence soon would be felt by all. His smile would warm the hearts of all who knew him. These are just some of the things we know of this very special young man as we are his family.
