Maxine Cauline Pratt

Maxine Cauline Pratt, 86, of Burlington, died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the home of her son. Born September 4, 1926 in Des Moines County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Harry and Dollie (Johnson) Frank. On October 7, 1950 she married Walter Pratt. She was a graduate of Morning Sun High School and Burlington Business College. Mrs. Pratt worked for the Burlington Community School District until her retirement in 1989. Survivors include one son, Frank (Monica) Pratt of Burlington; five grandchildren, Erin Christensen of Gretna, Nebraska, Sean Christensen of West Burlington, Dulcie Marroquin of Burlington, Julie Cummings of Evansville, Indiana, and Connie Cuellar of San Antonio, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Daniel Christensen, Mikayla Christensen, Trinity Marroquin and Joshua Marroquin; two great-great grandchildren, Maddie Mitchell and Mikael Mitchell; two brothers, John (Nadine) Frank of Morning Sun and Rodney (Chris) Frank of Southfield, Michigan; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Valerie Christensen, and her devoted dog Midge. . Steven Parker will officiate. Inurnment will be held at later date in Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4th in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice. According to her wishes, cremation will be accorded following the funeral service.
