BRIAN ASKAM MUSCATINE, Iowa - Brian Keith Askam, 51, of Muscatine, died suddenly on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at his home. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2012, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the American Legion following the service. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the funeral home. Brian was born on December 16, 1960, in Muscatine, the son of Clark and Charlotte Epperly Askam. He married Robin Phillips on August 28, 1982, in Muscatine. They had two sons, Clark and Derek; and they later divorced. He was employed at HON Industries Enjoyed motorcycle riding, attending and watching Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs games, and spending time with family and friends. Those left to honor his memory include two sons, Clark Askam of Kirksville, Missouri, and Derek Askam and wife, Kelli, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two brothers, Dave Askam and wife, Annette, of Terrace Park, Ohio, and Paul Askam of Cerritos, California; two sisters, Sandra Smith and husband, Michael, of Milford, Ohio, and Laura Shoultz and husband, Matt, of Muscatine; and sev...[more]
