Louis John Tackes

Louis "Lou" Tackes Lou Tackes, age 91 years of Belgium died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Samaritan Home in West Bend. He was born August 17, 1921 in Power, Montana, son of Joseph and Katherine Keller Tackes. Lou was a pilot in the US Army Air Corps during WW II. On June 22, 1946, he married Elaine Croatt at St. Mary Church, Lake Church. She preceded him in death in 2007. The couple settled in Belgium and raised their family there. Lou was manager of manufacturing at Modern Equipment Company in Port Washington, retiring after many years. He was a member of St. Mary Church, Lake Church, Belgium American Legion and was a charter member of Belgium Lions Club. For many years, he was active with Camp American Legion and Wisconsin Lions Camp. He was a former Village of Belgium Board member and enjoyed gardening ,woodworking, and spending time with his family. Paulsen of Great Falls, MT and Clara Perrier of Conrad, MT, 3 brothers Joseph (Shirley) of Power, MT, Jerome (Patricia) of Hilton Head, NC and James (Rosemary) of Stevensville, MT, his sister in law Vernette Tackes of Port Washington, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers Mike and Clarence. Funeral services will be held on Friday evening, November 9, 7 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave., Belgium. Burial with full military honors will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Lake Church on Saturday. Visitation at the Funeral Home Friday from 4-7 PM.
