Matt Berte, Jr.

Mathias Joseph Berte was born April 5, 1977, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa to Matt and Cindy (Dahlhauser) Berte. Matt attended Seton Grade School and graduated from Garrigan High School in Algona in 1995. He then attended Iowa Central Community College in Ft. Dodge for 2 years. Matt worked at Electrolux Corporation in Webster City from 1999 until 2007. The past 5 years, he has worked at Chantland Company in Dakota City as well as farming with his dad, Matt. Matt was a positive person who could lift everyone's spirit, very kind and compassionate. He was a caring person with a happy personality. He enjoyed guns, shooting pool and singing karaoke, especially to country-western music. He was a very involved uncle of 4 nephews and 2 nieces. Matt died on Friday afternoon, November 30, 2012, in rural Humboldt County at the age of 35.
