Shawn Monroe Dugan, 25, of Fort Wainwright Alaska, died Friday, November 30, 2012 in Ester, Alaska. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center, with Pastor Dave Simonson officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation for Shawn will be held on Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Shawn Monroe Dugan, son of Laura (Dugan) Stein, was born October 14, 1987 in Waterloo, Iowa. He graduated from Webster City High School in 2007. On October 9, 2009 he was united in marriage to Abby Learned in Fairbanks, Alaska. Shawn was currently serving in the United States Army in the 25 BSB, 1-25 Stryker Brigade Combat Team. Shawn had served tours in Iraq, sustaining injuries during his tour and Afghanistan.
