Garry Chase

Garry Chase, 72, of Fort Dodge passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bob Henkelman officiating. The visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Garry was born in Lancaster, CA on September 30, 1940 to Luvern and Marcella Chase. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1957 to 1963. He owned Garry's Floor Covering for 38 years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed woodworking, and often was known to be working on household and landscaping projects. Garry is survived by his wife Sandra "Sandy"; daughters Kim Chase and Karla Hicks both of Fort Dodge and Tonya Chase of Cambridge, IA; his son Kerry (Stephanie) Chase of Twin Lakes, IA; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; his sister Barbara (John) Nordstrom and Rosie Ewing both of Keller, TX, Wynn (Mike) Hutter of Austin, TX and Wanda (John) Miller of Macon, GA; and his brother Wayne Core of Wichita, KS; and the many foster children that shared their lives with the family over the ye...[more]
