Diane Holt

Diane Avis Holt was born on September 30, 1939, in Windom, Minnesota to the late Earl and Avis (Spielman) Benson. She was baptized and confirmed at the American Lutheran Church in Windom and graduated from the Windom Public Schools in 1958. On June 21, 1958, Diane was united in marriage to the love of her life, Richard "Zeke" Holt at the American Lutheran Church in Windom. They farmed and together raised two sons, Jeff and Greg. Diane was a homemaker most of her married life. She later worked as a paraprofessional at Highland Elementary School in Windom for many years until retiring in 2001. She loved the children she taught, providing for their physical and emotional needs many times with a warm coat, boots, or kind words to build them up. Diane was a longtime member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom. She was a beautiful woman born to be a caregiver to many. Her pride and joy were her sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. She supported her grandchildren in all of their activities but more importantly encouraged them with love and care. Diane will be greatly missed by her two sons, Jeff (Shelly) Holt of Mapleton, MN; and Greg (Julie) Holt of Windom, MN; grandchildren Melissa (Jeremy) Haugh, Matt Holt, Laura (Scott) Miller, John Holt, Alii Holt, Lee Holt and Jake Holt; great-grandsons Mason and Carter Haugh; as well as many relatives and friends.
