Edith Wood, age 93 of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Newton Health Care. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe, with burial following at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Monroe Fire Department or the Newton Health Care Center. The daughter of Raymond and Ethel (Decker) Koder, Edith was born on December 4, 1919, in Reasnor. She graduated from Newton High School in 1938. On October 25, 1941, she was united in marriage to Bert Wood. Edith worked as a waitress Dawson's Coffee Shop and telephone operator at the Reasnor Phone Company.
