Curtis F. Buck, 83, of Davenport, Iowa and formerly of Maquoketa, died on Monday, December 31, 2012, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa. A celebration of Curtis' life will be held at 3 P.M., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2 P.M. until 3 P.M. at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa. Curtis Frederick Buck was born on October 17, 1929 in Baldwin, Iowa, to Louis C. and Wilhemina S. (Busch) Buck. He was a 1948 graduate of Onslow High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. He married Jenevieve A. Porter on March 25, 1954 in Maquoketa, Iowa. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2009. Curtis had worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation for 42 years in the engineering field. He was involved in many of the road construction projects in the area. He retired in 1992. Curtis was member of the Rose Society for Jackson and Perkins and a former member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge in Maquoketa. Those left to honor his memory include a Sister, Joan (Don) Littell of Davenport, IA; a Brother, Wayne (Wanda) Buck of Iowa City, IA; and Dear Friends who cared for him the last part of his life, Pam and Tim, Wendy, and Randy and Diana. He was preceded in death by his wife Jenevieve, his parents, and a brother Robert. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Genesis Hospice in Davenport.
