Marian F. Hildebrand

Marian F. Hildebrand, 93, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at her home in Maquoketa, Iowa. A celebration of Marian's life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa. Marian Freida Krause was born on July 20, 1919 in Blue Earth, Minnesota, to Franze and Helen (Johnson) Krause. Her early years were spent in Minnesota and then the family moved to Maquoketa where she graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1937. She married Clyde Hildebrand on November 3, 1937 in Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1979. Marian had farmed with her husband in the Maquoketa area on the Caves Road. She had also worked retail sales and did bookkeeping through the years for several local businesses including, Grahams, Marilyn's Boutique, the Tot Shop and Rasmussen's. She retired in 1982. Those left to honor Marian's memory include a daughter, Lynne Enlow of Bettendorf, IA; 3 grandchildren, Julie, Michelle and Hershel; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Margaret and Helen Jeanne, and a daughter, Karen.
