Lane Townsend

Lane L. Townsend, age 53, of Spirit Lake, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at his home in Spirit Lake. He was born on October 5, 1959, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, to Craig and Sheila Burch Townsend. Lane graduated from Marina High School in Huntington Beach, California, in 1979. He worked for many years at the Furniture Outlet and E.L.M. He enjoyed spending his spare time watching baseball and football. Lane is survived by his mother, Sheila Robinson, and her husband, Jerry of Spirit Lake; a daughter, Tori Townsend of Spirit Lake; two sons, Spencer Townsend of Menifee, CA, and Brayden Townsend of Spirit Lake; a step-daughter, Diana Hendrickson of Spirit Lake; a step-son, D.J. Hendrickson of Spirit Lake; a sister, Kelly McDonough of Lake Park; a brother, Paul Townsend, and his wife, Cathy of Corona, CA; two grandchildren, Kylee Block and Carson Hendrickson; step-brother, David Robinson; and two step-sisters, Debra Sampson and Diana Hietbrink; and his ex-wife, Susan Townsend. He was preceded in death by his father, Craig. A memorial service will be held at 11:00A.M. Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Faith Evangelical Free Church in Spirit Lake.
