Leola Marsh

Leola "Fritzie" Jean Marsh, 87, of Fort Dodge, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, January 24, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Allen Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge. Leola is survived by her four children, Pamela (Norman) Pliner of Fort Dodge, David (Diane) Marsh of Wheaton, Illinois, Juanita (Robert) Cook of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and Daniel (Lynne) Marsh of Naperville, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Scott (Lisa) and Angie Pliner, Kim and Dan (Kelly) Marsh, Robby, RaeAnn and Harry Cook, Kevin and Andy Marsh, and two great grandchildren, Natalie and Brad Pliner; her sister, Lorna Albaugh of Ankeny, Iowa and her brother, Joel Markert of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Russell Marsh on August 25, 1996, and a sister, Luanne Kammarmeyer. ried Russell Marsh. Leola was a registered nurse, a 1946 graduate of Mercy College of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa. Fritzie worked at Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge for over 25 years. She also served as a volunteer at Trinity Regional Hospital following her retirement from Mercy Hospital. Leola was very active at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, serving in the Mission House, Circle, and LWML. Leola enjoyed traveling, playing cards and watching sports (especially the Cubs). She especially enjoyed writing letters and spending time with family and friends. Fritzie was greatly loved and will be missed by many. Family prefers memorials be given to the building fund of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
