Brian Christian Chase, 48, of Newcastle, NE, entered into eternal rest on January 31, 2013 resulting from an automobile accident. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Congregational Church at Newcastle, NE with Rev. Gary Kimm officiating. Burial will be in Lime Creek Cemetery located south of Maskell, NE. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, NE. He was baptized and a member of the UCC Congregational Church of Newcastle. His childhood years were lived in the Crofton and Newcastle areas, graduating from Newcastle Public School in 1983. He was a member of the Nebraska National Guard for several years beginning in 1982. Brian especially enjoyed any social activity and loved playing cards, pool, and those special country roads that he loved to drive. His free spirit and kind heart left an everlasting imprint on his family and all who loved him. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Brett Chase of Newcastle and Miranda Chase of Youngstown, AZ; his grandmother and birthday twin, Dorothy L. Anderson, Newcastle, NE; his parents, Al and Ronna Chase, Glendale, AZ and Tom and Cris Calvert, Newcastle, NE; siblings, Michelle (Chase) McElwain and her friend Steve Brown, Sioux City, IA, Scott and Lupita Chase, Newcastle, NE, Steve and Shanin (Chase) Harding, Wynstone, SD, Kyle Calvert, Newcastle, NE; Brian's soul mate who he adored Alison Clickenger, Maskell, NE and her 2 sons Josh and Jonah Lee, Maskell, NE; seven nephews, one niece; and 2 great-nieces (who he promised to marry when they were older). He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Joe McCabe. Casket bearers will be his nephews, Michael McDonald, Clayton McCabe, Ryan McCabe, Joel McCabe, Eric Chase, Chris Chase, and Ben McElwain. Honorary casket bearers will be his niece and great-nieces, Emily McElwain, Makenzy and Megan Livingston.
