WILLIAM J. THOMPSON MUSCATINE, Iowa - William J. Thompson, 65, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Trinity Hospital - Muscatine. There will be no visitation or services. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Mary Frieden. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. William was born April 3, 1947, in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Paul and Jayne Haines Thompson. He married Mary Frieden on June 20, 1969, in Rock Island County, Illinois. They later divorced. He worked as a school custodian. He was an avid train enthusiast, especially enjoying the Lionel series. Those left to honor his memory include a son, Christopher Thompson; three daughters, Amanda Thompson, Deztinee Thompson, and Krystyne Thompson; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sisters, Susan Johnson, Lori Thompson, and Emily Peak. He was preceded in death by his parents.[more]
