James Thiel

James Dean Thiel was born April 30, 1962 in Estherville, Iowa. He overcame a lot of adversities and received his G.E.D and bachelors degree. On April 2, 2005, James was united in marriage to Julie Guttau at First United Methodist Church in Missouri Valley. James worked for RV Central in Sheldon before returning to Emmetsburg where he was currently employed with Kerber Milling Company and actively farming with his father. James had numerous hobbies and interests. He enjoyed farming, going to the races, fishing, boating and just about anything outdoors. He was quite handy and enjoyed working and tinkering with whatever needed fixing. More than anything, James loved his family. He attended Grace Baptist Church in Emmetsburg. James Dean was known affectionately to his family as "Sammy John." He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. On Wednesday, March 12, 2008, James Thiel passed away in Fairmont, MN.
