John Francis Brennan

John Francis Brennan was born on November 7th, 1943, in Emmetsburg, IA, the son of Adrian and Margaret (Noonan) Brennan. He attended Emmetsburg Catholic High School in Emmetsburg and later ILCC in Emmetsburg. John served our country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. On November 9th, 1968, John was united in marriage to Sally Bibow at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. John worked at Anderson's Lumber yard after the Army, and he later purchased the Model Cleaners in Emmetsburg. After John sold the Cleaners, he worked construction in Emmetsburg over the next several years becoming the Director of Energy for Upper Des Moines Opportunity for 18yrs. John was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and the VFW post 2295. John enjoyed playing baseball and later, officiating. He also enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing, especially watching nature. John loved playing with his 8 grandchildren and going with them to their family cabin. evin (Rachel) of Prior Lake, MN, Brian (Alison) of Iowa Falls, IA, Steve (Laura) of Sioux Falls, SD, and Adrian (Alecia) of Emmetsburg; eight grandchildren: Caleb, Sean, Finn, Hannah, Rose, Ryan, Mitch, and Morgan; 4 sisters: Margaret Sikora (Kenneth) of Cylinder, Mary Devries (John) of George IA, Jeanie Brennan and Kathy Brennan of Sioux Falls, SD: two brothers: Jim (Jo) of Jackson MN, and Bill (Becky) of Sioux Falls SD. As well as many nieces and nephews and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Pat. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Emmetsburg Catholic School.
