Huebner Funeral Home was so great to work with when setting up services for my dad. Danielle made the process so easy for us, and I appreciated that so much because we had no idea where to start. Thank you so much for everything.
The folks at Huebners were so accommodating from the beginning. Their relaxed and professional manner helped to get us through a very stressful and confusing time. They calmly helped us understand what needed to happen and confidently make the numerous choices regarding visitation, the funeral ceremony, burial and the reception. We are so appreciative of the personal attention to detail that allowed the entire process to go smoothly.
I will be honest when I walked into Huebner Funeral Home to make arrangements for my nephew Dustin I had some reservations. Our family has know the Huebner boys and there dad Walt for many years. Katie had some big shoes to fill when she took over and I'm going to tell you she filled those shoes and then some. I can not begin to tell you how much she has been there for us let alone everything she did this past week. Thank you Katie you did an awesome job.

I just want to thank Huebner Funeral Home. Over a year ago we sat down with them to preplan our parents funeral. They took the time with us and spent many hours with us. They were kind, gentle and very patient with my parents. I would touch bases with them through out the year to make sure that they didn't need anything and when I called they were kind. This last week my mother passed away and when I called them they took the time to talk with me and guide me through the process. We have a LARGE family and they were kind to us meeting our needs. The home was beautiful and very professional to Kim in the front, Katie taken care of my mom with a gentle touch and Tina to helping us preplan. We want to thank them and god bless that work that they do every day for every family.
The worst week of my life was made easier by Katie and the staff at Huebner. I can not thank her enough, any request we had she made happen, and even last minute changes were taken care of with no problems. She is a caring and heartwarming person and if your family has to deal with loss, I would recommend Huebner without hesitation.
In a trying time when you and other family members are not thinking as clearly as usual, the professionalism, reverence, and thoroughness exhibited by Katie was just what the doctor ordered. From a phone call the evening before our mother’s passing to the middle of the night notification and our earliest questions followed by a very thorough and extensive planning phone call she answered every question and thought of every contingency. This made a difficult time as easy and seamless as possible. From smallest to largest, not a single thing was overlooked. She orchestrated and lead our family through a very beautiful and moving service which was quite a fitting tribute to our mother. All the family had to do was show up, accept condolences, and visit with family and dear friends. Thanks to Katie the entire process was as simple and stress-free as any family could dream of. All I can say is thank you and please continue to do your fine work for the great people of our community.
My wife Deb and I would like to thank Tina at Huebner Funeral Home for helping us pre-plan our funeral arrangements. Tina was very thorough and explained things in a way which made both of us comfortable. Knowing that we have completed this task gives us and our family peace of mind. My wife and I attended services at the Catholic Church in Denison, Iowa. We were throughly impressed. We have been to our fair share of funerals over the decades and the professionalism and organization that was displayed was excellent. We were greeted at the door with a smile and directions were given accordingly. It was a pleasure to meet the young gal Katie who was the undertaker at the wake and found a mutual acquaintance. Well done to this team of professional individuals.
Our family was very pleased with our experience in working with Danielle and Kim at the time of our father's passing. Their kindness and compassion was welcoming and greatly appreciated. Their professionalism and attention to detail made the difficult process of planning the funeral comforting. They were helpful and efficient in every way. We are grateful for all that they did to help us through our grief at this difficult time.
I just want to let everyone know how pleased I am with Huebner Funeral Home. When we met with Danielle to plan my Husband’s funeral, it went so smooth. She was on top of everything and what we wanted she did. My husband’s wishes was to have a red casket with IH FARMAL on it she got it done. She did a great job with getting Phil ready, and doing whatever we asked. Always had her phone on if I had any questions. Was able to get 165 people Seated in our small Church in the country. Was able to have his last tractor ride To the cemetery with his Super H pulling a trailer with his coffin and pallbearer’s riding. She is so caring. I give Danielle a 100%. Glad Dennis and Butch sold them the business since they wanted to sell. Denison is so lucky to have them in Denison.
With the sudden passing of our dad, Danielle and her team stepped in and created the most calm, caring, stress-free environment for us to make his resting arrangements. Day of, having us the time to be just us siblings before anyone came in was perfect. I wouldn't have imagined it went any other way - it was as you would hope it to go when something like this happens. We truly thank Danielle for her care and attention to details with our services!
We couldn't be more grateful to Danielle and her courteous staff in handling our mom, grandma and great-grandma's arrangements. We were allowed to spend time at Gracewell with mom until everyone who wanted to arrive, did. Danielle then came and took care of everything from there on out. She was very gracious, courteous, respectful, patient, kind and compassionate throughout the entire experience despite many changes made while writing the obituary. Danielle thought of things we didn't think of in the heat of the moment. She was very prompt in responding in whichever manner we chose to communicate. I can't say enough great things about how everything was handled. Thank you also to Kim, Gordie and the rest of the staff for all they did to make everything run smoothly. You guys are the BEST!
There are no words to describe your feelings when you need to face the sudden death of a spouse, no matter what age or diagnosis. After having been accustomed to services provided by Dennis and Butch, I wondered what to expect with the new owners. Dennis told me he would not sell Huebner Funeral Home to anyone that could not provide the services our community had been accustomed to. He did a wonderful job in selecting Danielle and her staff. They handled our situation in both a caring and professional way. We could not have asked for more. We had only partially moved back to Denison 3 days prior to Bill’s death. She explained everything and worked with us as we needed for final arrangements. We were even able to include one of our daughters via her cellphone as she waited to board a plane to come home. We are so grateful for everything Danielle and her staff did for us. Do not hesitate to use Huebner Funeral Home’s services. You won’t be disappointed.
Losing our Mother/ Wife/ daughter/ sister/ and friend was extremely difficult, but Huebner made our experience so much easier. Katie was there for us every step of the way, and helped take the weight off. Everything was beautiful, and we are extremely grateful for everyone at Huebner that pulled together to give our Patty a Memorable Celebration of Life.
From the moment Katie arrived at 3 am when my dad passed away, until the last thank you card was needed, Katie was compassionate, caring, patient, detail oriented, and professional. She and Kim made going through grief as comforting as possible. Our family is truly thankful for all they have done to guide and help us through this time. We told Katie at the graveside that what she does is a calling from God. She is amazing!
Everyone that works here was so helpful, respectful, and kind. They promptly answered any question I had and the visitation was perfectly done.
Our experience with Katy and her staff was extremely positive. Everything was taken care of for us so we didn’t have to fret over details. The services went well, in fact they anticipated our every need during the visitation and the funeral. Katy was always prepared with a backup plan. They are very experienced in dealing with families in a very difficult time. I highly recommend this group of fine folks.
My cousin Jason Auen passed away in late January, at the time residing in Nebraska. As his was an unattended death and out of state, we I encountered some legal and logistical issues that needed to be addressed before his remains could be brought home to Iowa. Katie Fitzsimmons was so responsive and professional. She took the lead and got everything handled. Katie kept me up to date throughout. She guided me through the entire process which culminated in a very nice service. Katie made the experience so much less stressful. I can't thank her enough.
The passing of a family patriarch is a difficult time for those left. It is with sincere appreciation to the staff of Huebner funeral home for making the passing of Joseph R White so fitting, so dignified and so appropriate to the way he lived his life. Danielle Mikels provided a wonderful combination of professionalism and compassion. It brought peace to our entire family.The support of Burke and the rest of the staff is greatly appreciated. My mother-in-law passed in March. She had a good amount of her obituary wrote an that was helpful, but there is so much more to do. Sitting through that I realized how much you need to pre plan your funeral arrangements if you want it your way. We met with Katie an she was so calm an professional it was so beneficial an helpful at a stressful time. Im going to get to planning an see Katie soon!
Any apprehension we had was quickly put to rest. Danielle and Katie were on point, on time, and held our hand through this process with caring combined with professional guidance. They are gems. Our mother passed away in January, out of state, in Colorado. The staff at Huebner's were so helpful handling the arrangements. This was our first funeral we had ever planned and they walked us through all of the details with so much patients and understanding. We met with Tina for preplanning for my parents. Huebner has taken care of our family members for decades. We would NOT TRUST anyone else to handle our final arrangements. They were honest and they walked us thru the entire process and made the process easy to understand and complete. They went above and beyond to help us with forms and paperwork that needed to be filled out. They spent their time with us and DID NOT rush us thru the process. They answered every question and made sure that we understood everything. Kind, compassionate, honest, gentle and forthcoming.
