Just wanted to say “thank you” to one of your competant attendants at the Kayla Atkins funeral on Monday at St. John’s.
My husband is disabled and when we pulled into the parking lot, the handicapped spots were taken up by the funeral procession vehicles. I intended to drop him off and go to try and find a parking spot nearby. Your man came to the car and said he’s parking in a roped off area for me. It was such a kind and thoughtful thing to do and so appreciated. I didn’t get his name, but thought you should know. GREAT JOB!

Can't say enough about how Joe's memorial was handled. Excellent! Beautiful and appropriate! Unusual circumstance, but was handled with class and grace! Thank you Rochelle and staff!

I am writing to thank you again for your kindness and thoughtfulness at the time of my sister Karen’s death. Making funeral arrangements immediatley after being in a car/semi crash was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Your patience and gentle guidance were a great comfort. Your willingness to stay late that afternoon meant we didnt have to make an extra trip to Burlington. Many, MANY thanks for all that you did.

Nan, Raven, and Adona’s entire family send this message of sincere gratitude for your thoughtfulness and generosity during this extremely difficult time. The gifts you provided regarding the care of Adona, the music and video tribute along with everything else you did was not only greatly appreciated, but was above and beyond our expectations and financial situation. It was a very gracious tribute to Adona’s short life on this earth. We were truely blesses to have known Adona and to be a part of this special family. Thank you ao much for caring, listening and lightening our load as we begin to grieve the loss of Adona. It means more than you will ever know.

You could not have made a family any happier than you made all of us, during our entire experience with Larry’s services at Lunning’s Funeral Chapel. Your expertise and your genuine concern for me and my family were noticed and appreciated so much. Rick’s gentle and caring manner throughout all the services made me feel comforted and that my Larry put Rick into my life, again, to comfort and be available if I needed anything. Chip, the trip to Genesis East, in the middle of the night, to bring my precious husband, Larry and the kids, grandkids and great grandkids father, grandfather, and great grandfather home, meant the world to all of us.
Chip, we love you so much for the time and care it took to do all this for us.
Rochelle, words fail me to adequatley express how your most tender, loving care, touched my family and me. You guided us with your expertise and professionalism from beginning to end. I truly felt you cared and that, under your direction, we found a most loving group of people we now feel we can call our friends.
Needless to say, we will sing your praises, your kindness, your enrichment of our lives and the caring love you gave to each of us. Our love an appreciation for the wonderful memories you created for us to carry away from your services.
by The Family of Ernestine Duncan
The family of Ernestine Duncan would like to express our thanks to the staff of Burlington Care Center in taking care of our mother in the last months of her life. The CNAs and nurses were competent and compassionate but everyone on staff, from housekeepers and kitchen staff to administrators, cared about our mom and helped her through her difficult time.

We would also like to thank the staff of Great River Hospice who spent many hours attending to her special needs, both physical and spiritual, in the last months of her life.

Our special thanks to Reverend Manson for presiding over the funeral and providing the meal at Union Baptist Church, as well as Reverend Starling who also spoke at the funeral.

We also express our gratitude to the staff at Lunning Chapel whom, as always, did their jobs with utmost kindness and competence.

And finally, a special thanks to friends who sent flowers and cards and supported our family in our time of grief.
by Sheila (Logan) Glaspie
To the entire staff...thank you. I cannot speak highly enough of your sincerity, compassion and professionalism. To Rochelle, Chip and Larry whom I had the most contact with... I thank you for your un-endless patience, caring, attentiveness to our needs and wishes, consideration of our expressions of sorrow and celebration of the lives of our loved ones. Truly, you all made the difference in helping us celebrate the lives of our loved ones and gave us a good starting point to grieve in a healthy way. Thank you is an inadequate statement. May all your lives be blessed as you have blessed us. oh...thanks for the hugs too.

Exceptional and Thoughtful service by all involved! Ted did an honorable job in meeting with me at Klein's where mom passed away and handled the transfer very graciously and professionally. Mom looked wonderful in spite of the head injury she sustained.
