Adding an Obituary

The Cases portion of the Growth Engine is focused on simplicity, social media, and email integration. Our goal is to make it as simple as possible for your staff to add/edit existing cases to unlock the unique ways the Growth Engine helps you connect with your community. Follow the steps below to add or edit a case.

1. Start by logging in to Growth Engine.

2. Enter your username and password.

3. Click on Cases on the top menu.

4. The Cases page will open. Click on the Add case button.

5. Fill in the deceased information.

6. Add a Profile Photo by clicking the Camera icon and locate the image on your computer.

7. Add your own Cover Photo(A) or choose a photo from our image library (B).

Note: You can either pick from pre-selected photos, or add your own. If you add your own, the image MUST BE 960px wide by 240px tall.

8. Add the obituary text.

9.  Select how you would like to publish the obituary.

Not Published: Choose this option if you would like to save without it going to your website.
Published to website: Choose this option if you want to place the death notice on your website, but not Facebook. Any changes you make later will be updated on the website.

10. Click Create Case button to complete adding the obituary.

Important: The obituary will show up immediately on your obituary listing page. But it can take up to 10 minutes for the obituary to be shown on your website home page. If you see it on the obituary listing page, it will show up on the home page.

11.It is easy to move an obituary to the top of the listing within the Growth Engine to accommodate the family’s wishes. Scroll to the bottom of the page and check to box next to Move to top.

12If you need to delete an Obituary, go to the obituary Actions and choose the Delete option.

Important: The profile photo you upload for the case you are entering Must be at least 200px by 200px. If the dimensions of your photo do not meet that criteria, the profile photo will not be displayed when sharing the obituary to Facebook.
