Notification Overview

Due to the restrictions on gathering sizes set by the CDC, many families are choosing to postpone funeral services to a later date. It could be several months until any services are held, which creates a communication challenge for the family and funeral home.

We’ve created a solution to allow the funeral home to add a signup to the obituary hosted by any website provider. By enabling this tool, we empower the family to effectively communicate with friends and family to keep them informed of service updates in the future.  This communication remains through the funeral home to ensure accuracy of information.

Creating the unique link and adding it to your website

  1. IMPORTANT:  If you are not a Funeral Innovations client, you need to email support@funeralinnovations.com first for us to create your account. In your email, please include the following:
    • Your Name
    • Funeral Home Name
    • Phone Number
    • Website URL (www.yourfuneralhome.com)
  2. Once your account is created, you will be sent your login credentials.  Please go to https://funeralinnovations.com and click on Login in the upper right.
  3. Create an obituary to generate the unique notification link. (Minimum information is Name Only)
    • (There is no audio)
  4. Embed the link you copied in the previous step into the obituary in your website. We advise adding some supporting text.

Viewing the people who have signed up for notifications

Once people begin signing up for the notifications associated with an individual obituary, you can easily access them under the associated case.

  1. Go to https://funeralinnovations.com and click on Login in the upper right.
  2. Open the associated case and look under Subscribers -> Obituary

Sending a message to subscribers on behalf of the family.

It’s simple to send a message to everyone who has signed up for notifications. This could be for an update on when a service is being held, or any message the family wishes to get out.

  1. Go to https://funeralinnovations.com and click on Login in the upper right.
  2. Open the associated case and look under Subscribers -> SMS Announcements
